Participants in the Space Challenge Olympiad will explore various aspects of space study, including the mysteries of the cosmos, advancements in space technology, astronomical phenomena, and the future of space exploration.

Curriculum and Syllabus

The Olympiad curriculum encompasses a wide range of topics within this field, tailored to engage students from classes 3 to 12. The students will be divided into three categories based on their class levels. Each category will have a curriculum and syllabus designed to suit their understanding and educational level.

Grades: 3 to 5

  • Basic Introduction to the Solar System

  • Understanding Earth and the Moon

  • Famous Astronauts and their Missions

  • Simple Constellations and Star Patterns

Grades: 6 to 8

  • Detailed Study of the Solar System

  • Introduction to Rocketry & Space Missions

  • Overview of Satellites and their Uses

  • Basic Concepts of Astronomy

Grades: 9 to 12

  • Advanced Concepts in Space Sciences & Technology

  • Study of Major Space Missions

  • Introduction to Satellite Technology

  • Understanding of the Universe

Process and Rounds

Space Challenge is designed to showcase the brilliance of young minds in space science and technology. This event is open to students aged 8 to 18 years, intending to identify and nurture future scientists' and technologists' talent at the school level. The competition procedure consists of two levels.

Prelims

For the preliminary round of the Space Challenge, participants will be evaluated on their understanding of space science concepts as well as their problem-solving abilities. This round includes 100 multiple-choice questions, which need to be completed within 60 minutes. There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

Mains

For the next round of the Space Challenge, only those participants who have successfully qualified from the preliminary round will be invited to further demonstrate their expertise in space science. This advanced round consists of 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered within a span of 60 minutes. Please note, there is a penalty of -1 for each incorrect answer.

Case Study

In the final round of the Space Challenge, only selected participants who have excelled in the earlier rounds will be invited to engage in a comprehensive case study. During this stage, they are tasked with designing their space missions. This round offers a unique opportunity for participants to demonstrate their strategic thinking and presentation skills.

The Space Challenge rewards excellence and creativity with an exciting array of prizes and acknowledgements for our top participants:

Top 3 Champions

  • Upto 3 top performers will win cash scholarships of INR 3,000 each. This prize provides winners with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the marvels of space science and the wonders of astronomical discovery. 

Top 100 Champions

  • The top 100 participants will each receive customized space-themed merchandise. This exclusive gear is designed to commemorate their impressive performance in the Space Challenge.

All Participants

Every participant in the Space Challenge will be awarded a certificate of participation and a special goodie bag worth INR 1,000. This serves as a testament to their commitment and effort in this demanding and enriching competition.
